The city of Waterloo has approved a contract with Claassen Engineering to evaluate the riverbed and shoreline and to design alternatives for a better approach to the water at the boating center. With some money allocated and some being requested as part of this year's bond program, improvements might include an improved approach to the dock and restructured waterfront. The club has recently added two boats to its fleet. A 1998 mid-weight Hudson pair/double was purchased this winter. Additionally, a 1997 Alden Star single was purchased in 2001.
The traditional orange/brown combination which initiated the Waterloo Rowing Club entry into rowing club pageantry have been changed! In response to the harder-to-find brown lycra/supplex/spandex trou, members voted last year to switch to an orange/navy combination.
