you ever wondered who first decided that oatmeal would make
a good breakfast food? It was the man who built this house.
His name was John Forrest, and he came to Cedar Falls from
Canada to popularize oatmeal in the United States. He built
this home in 1874.
Mr. Forrest
operated a mill for the making of oatmeal and also made
barley flour and feed.
