Why aren't these devices complete?

Why do you suppose that none of these are "the product"? All are designed to be installed into a socket on the product. So, they often exclude the 3 terminal regulator, or the Ethernet transformer, or holes to mount to a case, and so on... It seems to me that if they repackaged a version of these things small, but complete, they would sell more of them, since the end user would simply mount and harness it in...

Part of the answer is in how you use it. There are circumstances where just a wee bit more and they'd have a full product. In one of my use cases, I need a PS/2 keyboard socket, and a 5volt drive circuit to power a remote device. You won't find these as standard equipment... (although they would fit into a small prototyping area ;)

Raw vs. Embedded Cost

In many cases, there is a difference between the raw and embedded cost. It may be that their is a carrier board required, or it may require an external Ethernet transformer, and so on.

The best link is to google, and then create the search of your choice. There are quite a few users of each of these, some harder to discover than others.
