Permanent Planning, Inc. (PPI) is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1973 for the purpose of providing guardianship services for people with mental retardation in Black Hawk County. PPI currently serves individuals and is guardian for numerous wards, and a number of additional individuals are enrolled in our program, which means PPI stands ready to serve as their guardian should the need arise due to the death or disability of a family member.
Permanent Planning, Inc. employs human service professionals who work closely with service providers to enable the wards to obtain their highest degree of independence, according to what the ward's capabilities will allow. The staff monitors services to be sure the ward receives proper nutrition, appropriate medical and psychological services. Services which the family would normally provide, including celebrating birthdays and Christmas with the wards, advocating on their behalf when a concern is expressed, and searching for opportunities for growth that will increase the wards' quality of life. |
