- This exhibition is fascinating and eye-opening for me as an adult! It is fantastic that these children were given the opportunity to express themselves through such a great means of communication and that this form of art education has helped them to work through their experiences as a result. I have been so inspired by Emil Tanay's work with these children I am embarking on my own research of how art education can help the refugees in Sydney's primary schools. If anyone has anything to contribute to this, please mail me!

I was fascinated by them. I am doing my dissertation on intergrating refugee children into the classroom and these pictures show us how much we need to know to be able to teach these children.
Amazing work!

- I am currently engaged in teaching a unit on "Cultures in Conflict" to sixth grade middle scnts. I became aware of this site through a state art & technology educator's group. It is a powerful site for my teaching objectives. I will use it to expand our geographical knowledge and as a visual stimulus as well as reminder to students who think that there are no wars going on in our world.

- These drawings show that art education is of existential importance to children. See Bertil Sundin writing about this. Children can and want to express themselves in various forms of art. They learn through art (colours, sounds, etc.). As regards these children fro Bosnia and some other cruel regions: In order to prevent such stupid things as fighting and shooting is, people all over the Central Europe need multicultural education. Tolerance, empathy, caring are things which were absolutely neglected during communist era. Consequently: We need effort for combining art education and multicultural education.
