If so, then Iowa Jobs for American's Graduates (I-JAG) is a program for you. I-JAG is approaching it's 2nd year at East High and it's 7th year in the Waterloo Community School District. With the sucess of I-JAG's 11th and 12th grade programs at East High, the program will be offered to 9th and 10th graders starting with the 2006-2007 school year.

Iowa Jobs for America's Graduates provides an effective strategy to strengthen the secondardy education systems by serving youth needing additional assistance in completeing a secondardy education, pursing post-secondary education or training, and or entering the workforce in a qualitly job leading to a career.

I-JAG offers a sucessful program by providing several unique services:

  • Career Development
  • Academica Remediation
  • Post-Secondary Research
  • Job Attainment
  • Job Survival
  • Basic Skills
  • Life Survival Skills
  • Job Shadowing, internships and part-time employment
  • Follow-up service does not end after graduation, but continues for twelve months after graduation to ensure a scucessful school-to-career transistion.
