There are many organizations and activities at East High School. Students should watch for posters and listen carefully to announcements for meeting places and starting dates. We are always interested in adding new organizations based on student interest. If you have a suggestion for a new club, please see an administrator. Current, students may participate in:
- Dances: Several dances are held during the year. The standard EHS dances are Homecoming (informal), Winter formal (dressy), and Prom (very formal). Other dances may be approved through Mr.Blau’s office. All students should be familiar with the “Goodnight Rule”. Once a student has come to an evening activity, the student is not permitted to leave unless they intend to leave for the evening. Students who leave the event are not re-admitted.
- D.U.K.E.S. ( Desire, Unity, Keeps, Excellence, Successful): Acts as a service organization and has fun.
- Speech/Debate Team: Practices on a weekly schedule and participates in competitions with other schools. The team works on many different kinds of oratorical skills.
- Fellowship of Christian Athletes: Participates in service projects as well as leisure activities.
- Flag Squad/ Color Guard: Part of the Marching Band and perform at games and parades; Try-outs are held in the spring.
- Homecoming Activities: Held in Fall; During Homecoming week students may participate in many fun, spirited activities. Concludes with homecoming football game and dance.

- Prom: Planned by junior class; final big social event of the year; underclassmen are permitted to attend if asked by a junior or senior.
- Newspaper Orange and Black: Written and produced by students (mostly juniors and seniors); helpful, but not necessary, to take a journalism class.

- Student Senate: Voice of the student body.
- Swing Show: talent extravaganza held in Spring (long standing tradition)
- Upward Bound/ Talent Search: Tour colleges, provide homework assistance, prepare for college and workforce; designed to provide opportunities for students to be successful in life.
