Dear Trojan Students and Parents,

Our mission at East High is to “Educate All Students for Tomorrow”.  In order to prepare our freshmen for success in high school we have implemented a ninth grade academy in which all ninth graders are assigned to one of three “houses” of approximately 120 students.  Each house has one English, math, science, social studies, and special education teacher.  This allows for a more personalized educational experience for each student, which helps ensure that each student can be successful throughout high school.

This year I will serve as the administrator in charge of the ninth grade academy at East High.  The Waterloo Schools recently learned that the District will receive a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to enhance our ninth grade academy and allow us to implement additional strategies focused on improving student achievement.  I look forward to working with our students and staff to accomplish that goal.
