Choices
During the freshman year at East High, all students taking Keyboarding/Word Processing I are introduced to Choices.
Choices- Engages high school students in an interactive process that builds self-knowledge and opens a world of opportunities by providing them with assistance in identifying their interests by career areas, providing excellent information about occupations, collages, and financial aid for their School-to-Career planning.
All Word Processing I students will be doing the Career Area Interest Checklist that identifies their interests by 12 Career Areas. Students are then encouraged to use Choices throughout their high school years to search for occupations with key topics such as education, school subjects, skills, and earnings. Choices will also provide students with comprehensive and up-to-date information about more than 4,000 collages, tech schools, and graduate schools in the United States and Canada. Choices provides hundreds of collage topics and thousands of sources for financial aid.
Students are always welcome to explore Choices more fully, especially as they look for options for the future. Once a student has created on on-line profile. They can access their profile from any computer connected to the internet. Choices is accessed at http://www.collegeplanning.org/iowachoices. It you would like to utilitize the tools from Choices but are not currently enrolled in Keyboarding I, please see Mrs. Pfalzgraf in Room 113 for East High's log in ID and password.
