The cutting torch consisted of a handle that accepted the cutting rod and has connections for an air line and 12 volt electrical cables. The rod is a hollow copper tube with 7 solid magnesium rods inside of it. Air or Oxygen is delivered through the handle and copper tube and you strike an arc just like arc welding. The only difference is the arc ignites the magnesium rods which burns hot enough to cut metal and concrete under water.
