The Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue Unit is located in Waterloo, Iowa and has been in existence for over 30 years. We are a nonprofit independent rescue service manned entirely by volunteers, which responds to all waterborne emergencies in Northeast Iowa. The Unit is made up of highly trained and experienced scuba divers as well as various surface support personnel. We work in conjunction with all Northeast Iowa Sheriff, Police, Fire Rescue and Emergency Management Offices. We also work with the Iowa DOT and DNR Offices. Without the generosity of the general public and local business, the Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue unit would not exist. It takes thousands of dollars a year to keep the Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue Unit in operation and with the latest safety and rescue equipment. Our income is derived from membership dues, donations from the general public, local businesses, civic and service organizations, government agencies using our services and contracted fees for personal and commercial diving. Special equipment that remains on our "wish list" includes: underwater communications masks; dry suits; cold water suits and life supporting gear. Donations can be made direct to the Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue Unit by means of cash, check, or items to be used, sold or raffled. If you would care to make a donation to the Cedar Valley Underwater Rescue Unit, please mail your check payable to:
