Recent Events: • 2008 & 2007 - It has been a relatively uneventful years. Two new members are now on-board. We made a few dives to retrieve various personal items. Recovered evidence for the Waterloo PD. Stood-by as safety for the Polar Plunge. • 2006 - It has been a relatively uneventful year for us. We did some dives for DCI and the Waterloo Police. • June 13, 2005 - We located and repaired a cable that holds the ski jump ramp for the Waterhawks Ski Team. • April 16, 2005 - We recovered an ATV that had went through the ice in Big Lake. • January 30, 2005 - We did a public service dive. The dive involved a search under the ice. The visibility was about 10 foot. The weather was nice and all went well. May 22, 2004 - We did a training and repair dive at Rodgers lake. The training went well and we did find the problem with the dam. We will go back and make repairs when the water goes down a bit.
April 20, 2003 - We recovered a stolen car form the Two Rivers access in Evansdale. The car was in approximately 6 foot of water. Special thanks goes out to Ray Rich, Doug Kloster, Rick Johnson and Jason Dolf for doing this work on Easter Sunday. March 1, 2003 - The annual ice-dive went off without a hitch. The air temperature was 30 degrees and the water temperature was 36 degrees. •January 26, 2003 - We held a basic ice safety class and demonstration for the Cedar Valley Bassmasters. Ray Rich stepped into a precut hole and demonstrated how to get out of the water and back on top of the ice using ice awls. Divers Doug Kloster and Blake Waseskuk were suited up and ready to go in the event something went wrong. Wayne Walker, Marv Anderson and his grandson handled the equipment and tended for this demonstration. •December. 8, 2002 -The Waterloo Police Department asked us to help recover a stolen car that was now in the river. Ray Rich and Doug Kloster suited up for this cold dive. Tom Siglin, Marv Anderson and Marv's grandson helped with equipment and tending. Ray and Doug had to use hot water to melt the ice off the suits at the end of the dive. • November 2, 2002 - Kevin Kirchner, Jake Isbell and Ray Rich repaired a dry hydrant for the Fort Atkinson/St. Lucas fire departments. It was a challenge in the cold water with zero visibility. August 6, 2002 - We were called to retrieve a set of keys lost off the Cedar River boat ramp in Waterloo. The happy owner is shown accepting the keys from diver, Doug Kloster who's been with our Unit for over 23 years.
