A Message from the Director ~

The First Judicial District Department of Correctional Services is committed to reducing victimization and keeping the citizens informed of correction's issues and activities.  The department provides a continuum of supervision, assessment, and programming options, which are individualized for each person under community supervision.  The services are implemented according to evidence-based principles to achieve the best possible outcomes.  

The department understands the importance of teamwork and collaborates with many community partners to provide services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.  We are concerned about the needs of victims and work with victim service agencies to help address their needs. 

Supervision and services are provided to about 5,200 offenders by the 201 dedicated and well-trained professionals who work for the department.  We serve a diverse population and value a diverse work force.  We encourage minorities and people fluent in other languages, as well as English, to apply for job and volunteer opportunities.
