Email errors:
Your email is not working. Let's try and pinpoint the problem
and some possible solutions. *
If you do not find the help you need here, call the CedarNet office
(233-5675), and keep your notes handy since you will be asked
many of these same questions.
- I can receive email, but cannot send it.
- The mail comes in, but after I write a message, I find
I am disconnected and cannot send.
If you are using Outlook Express:
- Click on Tools at the top of your screen, then select
Options
- Click on the Connection tab
- Look for "Hang up after sending and receiving",
and if the box is checked, click on it to clear that
option.
- I can get mail, but everytime I try to send anything,
the computer says my password is wrong.
- I can send, but not receive.
- If you have Outlook Express for email, and Norton for
your anti-virus, there is a possible conflict. Click
here to see how to get around that particular problem.
- I cannot send or receive emails.
- Make sure you are connecting to the Internet.
- Outlook Express users: Make sure that Outlook Express
is using "Any available" for connection
- There may be one large, or corrupted message that is clogging
your mail flow. Remove the offending message using the Web-Mail
program. Just visit WebMail
and login to your mail. Then, when you are presented with
the mail list, simply delete the first message in the list,
along with any others you do not really want. Then try downloading
your email again with your regular program.
- Check that your server settings are correct.Search

- My email client will not open at all.
- Restart your computer and try again, if it still fails,
you might want to consider reinstalling the program with
the latest version.
