Friends of the Cedar Falls Band
The Friends of the Cedar Falls Band, chaired by band Vice-President Judy
Larkin, provides important supplemental support for our band such as special
purchases of equipment like tympani, a new gong, new music and other special capital
items and activities. Their support was essential during leaner times when
city funding fell short, and will continue to play an important role as our
band continues to flourish as a model of community service and pride. This
season a major goal for the band is to acquire a permanent set of chimes
which cost about $2,700. Many compositions call for this instrument, such as
the "1812 Overture."
