| Reverend Coleman has served Baptist churches in Illinois and Iowa.
While in Illinois he was an interim pastor at Hopewell Baptist Church,
in Carbondale, for two years and was the pastor of New Hope Baptist
Church in Sparta for ten years. Presently, he is the grateful
pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. This
relationship has endured over the past twelve years because Antioch was
the answer to his prayer of many years. This is the Church of
Three Ships; Worship, Friendship, and Fellowship - that is Kingdom
Building. In the course of his calling Rev. Coleman has served in the District
Association, State Convention, and National Convention. He has
been privileged to hold the offices of Youth Director, Congress
President, Congress Dean, Teacher, Convention Vice President, and
National Convention Board Member. Michael has been called upon
many times to serve on several of the Governs Tasks Forces in Education
and Affordable Housing.
Michael is married to the awesomely, godly, and brilliantly
intelligent Charlotte L. (Robertson) Coleman. They have been
blessed by God with five beautiful children, Michelle, Michael II,
James, John, and Bethany. He also has two terrific grandsons in
Jaimar, and Javon. His prayer is that they all would be in the
service of the Lord.
When he's not serving as pastor, Rev. Coleman enjoys cooking,
reading, and writing. Michael especially enjoys reading in the
areas of biblical studies, theology, philosophy, literary theory,
psychology, poetry, Martin Luther King Jr., and leadership. His
standard baring verse is found in the book of Romans 8:28 9NKJV),
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love
God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. |
