The Foundry Education and Fine Arts Group is a non-profit group that teaches individuals of all ages the history of the metal casting process in hands-on workshops. During the workshops, materials and tools will be provided to create a negative design that will cast a positive image, similar to a 3-D printmaking process. Participants in the Ironpour workshops will receive a 10”x10” open-face sand tile which can be scratched to produce a low relief sculpture,10" x 10" and a quarter inch thick. The pour will take place Saturday night at 8 pm after the Awards Dinner. The participation of this group in the Fall Conference is funded, in part, by a grant from the Iowa Arts Council. |
