2006 Conference Exhibit

OCTOBER 2-14, 2006

An Exhibition of Art created by participants of the Art Educator’s of Iowa 2006 State Conference is planned for the Heritage Gallery,111 Court Avenue, in Downtown Des Moines. www.heritagegallery.org/

The show will be installed October 1, 2006 and open to the public Oct. 2-14, 2006.

A “Wine & Cheese” reception will be hosted by the Heritage Galley Committee.  The reception will be part of the Friday night Gallery Hopping Event, Friday, Oct.13.

 All works must be picked up on Sunday, Oct.15 between 9-11 am, before leaving the conference.

 

Entry An entry fee of $5.00 is required, which helps pay for the exhibition space.

All conference participants are eligible to submit 2 works for the show.

Works must be original, executed independently, and completed within the last four years. All works must be on exhibition for the full scheduled show duration.

The Heritage Gallery reserves the right to photograph exhibited works. These may be reproduced in printed material and for publicity purposes.

 

Delivery of Art Works All works must be delivered to Steve Greenquist at Ankeny High School on or before 3:00 PM on Friday, September 29, 2006.

Please call Steve at school (M-F 8:00-3:00) 515-965-9630 or at home 515-289-9825 prior to your delivery so works can be secured when delivered.

 

Shipped Work Artists are encouraged to hand deliver works.

Pick up Work Because entry in the exhibit requires attendance at the conference artists are expected to pick up their work before leaving, between 9-11 am Sunday Oct. 15.

WORKS NOT PICKED UP WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF AEI AFTER OCTOBER 30th.  NO WORKS WILL BE SHIPPED BACK TO ARTISTS.

 

 

Installation of Artworks The exhibit will be installed on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 30th & Oct.1). No works will be added to the exhibit after the installation date.

Artworks must be ready to install. All 2-D works must be framed and wired for hanging.

All 3-D works should be stable to withstand normal viewer traffic.  A limited showcase space is available for smaller works.

 

Sales Heritage Gallery does not handle sales of artwork or retain any commission.  Works can be priced for sale or not for sale, but handling of any sale will be directed through the artist (note artist phone number required on the entry form).

 

Insurance The gallery space is only open when a volunteer docent/monitor is present.  These gallery representatives will attempt to secure all works from theft or damage – but artists must accept the responsibility for insuring art works during shipping and exhibition.
